Automation Engineering

AP degree - 2 years - 120 ECTS points

Do you have a passion for working with the development of automatic systems? Or do you dream of heading the practical installation – setting up, running-in, optimising and commissioning – of automatic systems in production technology environments? If so, the Automation Technology programme is ideal for you.

The Automation Technology programme is a 2-year higher education programme.

As a qualified Automation Technologist you will work with the development of automatic systems. You will be able to assimilate the necessary documentation from idea proposals / requirement specifications and prepare documentation for automatic plants/systems in consultation with clients and suppliers.
You will be able to undertake development and installation independently or in collaboration with designers/engineers. Development will be at system level, which means that you can choose an optimum hardware solution and develop software – right from PLC, through PC to embedded SW controls.

You will be able to coordinate the practical collaboration with various specialists, such as process operators, electricians, smiths and electronics people who do the practical and manual work related to the installation of a system. In connection with installation and commissioning, you will be able to configure and set up parameters for the individual system elements.
Based on your system overview, you will be able to analyse problems and find solutions when difficulties occur during the installation of that which has been planned for. Such issues may be e.g. special conditions in the production technological environment or in the physical environment, which may need adaptations or alterations.
